The 4th International Symposium on Energy and Environmental Photocatalytic Materials (EEPM4) is a continuation of a series of conferences, covering a wide range of basic and applied research areas. It involves processes related to solar energy collection, conversion, and storage, environmental restoration, clean technologies, and sustainable chemistry, with a focus on photocatalysis and photoelectrocatalysis. This conference serves as an inspiring forum for interdisciplinary research from around the world, including plenary sessions, keynote and invited lectures, oral and rapid presentations, poster sessions, and a commercial exhibition. The subsequent high-end forum and exchange meeting will be held at Yan'an University on July 28-29, 2021.
During this conference, experts in attendance engaged in in-depth discussions on various research directions related to photocatalytic materials. These include fundamental studies of photocatalytic materials, defect chemistry of photocatalytic materials, surface/interface and bandgap engineering of photocatalytic materials, morphology and facet tuning of photocatalytic materials, new strategies towards synthesis and engineering of photocatalytic materials, photo/electro-catalytic synthesis of value-added molecules, photo/electro-catalytic water splitting or CO2 conversion, and photoactive materials for solar cells; as well as photo/electro-catalysis for environmental remediation.
This conference, held in a combined online and offline format, invited more than 300 representatives from over 11 countries, including universities, research institutes, and well-known enterprises from China, the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, Poland, the Czech Republic, Greece, Russia, Japan, South Korea, and Israel. Distinguished guests such as Academicians from the European Academy of Sciences (Jiaguo Yu, Jinlong Zhang, Detlef Bahnemann, Masakazu Anpo), Academician Wonyong Choi from the Korean Academy of Science and Technology, Professor Hiromi Yamashita, President of the Catalysis Society of Japan, and Professor Kazunari Domen from the University of Tokyo and Shinshu University gave keynote or plenary lectures. Professor Jianfeng Huang, Vice President of our university, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Professor Chuanyi Wang, Dean of the School of Environmental Science and Engineering, served as the conference chair and presided over the opening ceremony.
