The National Symposium on Organic Porous Materials has been held five times since it was first hosted in Lanzhou in 2014, followed by events hosted by the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology (2016), Fudan University (2018), Huazhong University of Science and Technology (2021), and Northeast Normal University (2023). This symposium has become an important academic exchange platform in the field of organic porous materials in China. The 6th National Symposium on Organic Porous Materials will be hosted by Qingdao University of Science and Technology and organized by the College of Polymer Science and Engineering, Qingdao University of Science and Technology.

The Chinese Photocatalysis Materials Symposium is an international academic symposium focusing on photocatalytic materials for energy and environmental applications. The 7th Chinese Photocatalysis Materials Symposium is co-hosted by Changsha University, Hunan Institute of Technology, Hunan University of Humanities, Science and Technology, Huaibei Normal University, and China University of Geosciences (Wuhan). The symposium aims to provide a high-level platform for Chinese and international experts to exchange and showcase achievements in the field of photocatalysis. The conference has so far received 8 keynote presentations, 9 thematic reports, 109 invited talks, 27 oral presentations, and over 100 poster presentations. There will also be an exhibition of photocatalysis products and instruments, with 10 Outstanding Poster Awards being granted with certificates and prizes.
The proceedings of the symposium will be published in a special issue of the Journal of Catalysis, with a current impact factor of 15.7, ranked in the top category by the Chinese Academy of Sciences. A virtual special issue will also be organized for the Journal of Physical Chemistry (impact factor 10.8), to be published in 2025. Additionally, a virtual issue will be organized for the international journal Journal of Materials Science & Technology, with a 2024 impact factor of 11.2, also ranked in the top category.

The 7th International Conference on Solar Fuels and Solar Cells (7th SFSC) will open in Dalian from September 24-27, 2024. The first SFSC was initiated in 2008 by Academician Sun Licheng from Dalian University of Technology (now at Westlake University) and Academician Li Can from the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The conference has since been successfully held six times (every two years).
The 7th SFSC conference will continue its tradition of focusing on key issues in the solar energy field, particularly in artificial photosynthesis for solar fuels, green hydrogen, carbon neutrality, and solar cells. The goal is to provide a platform for global solar energy experts to share cutting-edge developments, showcase the latest achievements, inspire innovative thinking, analyze opportunities and challenges in the field, and explore future directions and needs for efficient solar energy conversion technologies. The 4th National Youth Symposium on Photo-Functional Materials, organized by the Photochemistry Professional Committee of the Chinese Chemical Society and Xi’an Jiaotong University, will be held in Xi’an from September 27-30, 2024.
