On November 9-12, 2023, the 5th Energy and Environmental Catalysis Conference concluded successfully in Chengdu, Sichuan. The conference was organized by the Beijing Indoor and In-Vehicle Environmental Purification Association and hosted by Southwest Petroleum University, Sichuan University, and the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. Beijing Perfectlight Technology Co., Ltd. also sponsored the conference.
The conference featured 7 parallel sessions, including Energy Electro-Catalysis, Energy Photo-Catalysis, Environmental Photo-Catalysis, Energy Storage Materials, Biomass Energy Catalysis, Environmental Thermo-Catalysis, and Electrosynthesis & Photosynthesis. There were a total of 76 keynote presentations, 284 invited talks, and 10 oral presentations.

Innovative quartz column light-guiding and ambient-reactor design significantly increased the catalyst's light-receiving area from 0.3 cm2 to about 20 cm2, an increase of nearly 70 times.
