The 2nd National Academic Conference on Carbon Dioxide Resource Utilization, organized by the Chinese Chemical Society, successfully concluded in Lanzhou, Gansu.

From August 14th to 17th, 2023, the 2nd National Conference on Carbon Dioxide Resource Utilization, organized by the Green Chemistry Committee of the Chinese Chemical Society and hosted by Lanzhou University, was successfully held at Lanzhou University.

The conference focused on the "peak and neutrality of carbon" goals, discussing the paths, strategies, and challenges of CO₂ emissions reduction, exchanging ideas on the theoretical, technical, and methodological frontiers and hot issues in the field of "CO₂ emissions reduction."

Academic reports were presented by scholars such as Academician Han Buxing from the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor He Liangnian from Nankai University, and Researcher Shi Feng from the Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, with topics including "CO₂ Catalytic Conversion for the Preparation of Chemicals and Fuels," "CO₂ Chemistry: Scientific Basis and Pathways for Carbon Dioxide Utilization," and "Direct and Indirect Utilization of CO₂."

The conference consisted of 6 sessions, including 22 keynote speeches, 88 invited talks, 62 oral presentations, and 58 poster presentations. The 6 sessions covered areas such as CO₂ photo(electro)catalytic conversion, CO₂ electrocatalytic conversion, CO₂ thermochemical conversion-1, CO₂ thermochemical conversion-2, CO₂ characterization and mechanism, and CO₂ chemical engineering.

Dr. Gong Yuanzheng from Perfect Light Technology was invited to give a presentation on "An Active Evaluation Solution for Gas-Solid Phase Photocatalytic/Photothermal CO₂ Reduction Reaction."
