How to distinguish between xenon lamp light source electrical power and optical power?

1. What is the electrical power of a xenon lamp light source?

Electrical power is the work done by current in unit time, known as electrical power, which is a physical quantity used to indicate the speed of energy consumption. It is denoted by P and its unit is watt (W), symbolized as "W".

The electrical power of an electrical appliance is numerically equal to the electrical energy consumed in 1 second. If the electrical energy consumed in time "t" is "W", then the electrical power of the appliance is P = W/t.

Additionally, electrical power is also equal to the product of the voltage across the conductor and the current passing through the conductor, i.e., P = UI, where U is voltage, and I is current.

2. What does the 300W in the basic parameters of the xenon lamp light source refer to?

300W represents the rated power of the xenon lamp light source bulb, and rated power refers to the maximum power at which the xenon lamp light source operates.

If the actual power exceeds the rated power, the appliance may be damaged. If the actual power is less than the rated power, the appliance cannot operate properly.

The actual power describes the amount of energy consumed by the appliance in unit time during actual electrical usage. A higher value means that more energy is consumed in a unit of time.

3. What are the common rated powers in Perfectlight Technology's xenon lamp light sources?

Perfectlight Technology offers several types of xenon lamp light sources, including Microsolar 300 Xenon Lamp Light Source, PLS-FX300HU High Uniformity Integrated Xenon Lamp Light Source, PLS-SXE 300D/300DUV Xenon Lamp Light Source, PLS-SXE 300/300UV Xenon Lamp Light Source, and CHF-XM Series Xenon Lamp Light Sources.

Among these xenon lamp light sources, except for the CHF-XM series, all other xenon lamp light sources have a power rating of 300W.

The 300W xenon lamp light source series uses core technology for solar simulators (TSCS). When using a 300W xenon lamp light source bulb, the energy output from the light source is close to 15 suns, which meets the requirements of various photocatalytic experiments such as water decomposition into hydrogen/oxygen, CO₂ reduction, and photocatalytic degradation

If higher energy is needed, you can either add focusing accessories or replace the xenon lamp light source bulb with a higher power one, such as 1000W or 1500W. Adjusting the power of the xenon lamp light source bulb requires synchronous adjustments to the power supply unit and heat dissipation unit. If you have special power requirements for xenon lamp light sources, you can contact Perfectlight Technology for customization.

In the CHF-XM series of xenon lamp light sources, there are two power options: CHF-XM150 150W xenon lamp light source and CHF-XM500 500W xenon lamp light source. The CHF-XM series xenon lamp light sources use a combination of spherical xenon lamps and lenses to meet the requirements of solar cell testing. The maximum energy output of parallel light is 4 suns, and the main application scenario is solar cell testing experiments, which require a light intensity of 1 sun and parallel light output.

4. What does the power adjustment range in the basic parameters of xenon lamp light sources refer to?

Except for the CHF-XM series, Perfectlight Technology specifies "Power adjustment range 150W to 300W" in the basic parameters of its xenon lamp light sources. According to the previously mentioned formula P=UI, with voltage held constant, you can adjust the electrical power of the xenon lamp light source by changing the current, thereby achieving the goal of adjusting the light power of the xenon lamp light source.

About the light power of xenon lamp light sources, a detailed explanation will be provided in subsequent articles.

Finally, it is important to note that Microsolar 300 Xenon Lamp Light Source, PLS-FX300HU High Uniformity Integrated Xenon Lamp Light Source, PLS-SXE 300D/300DUV Xenon Lamp Light Source, and PLS-SXE 300/300UV Xenon Lamp Light Source have light power output greater than that of the xenon lamp light sources in the CHF-XM series. When purchasing xenon lamp light sources, pay attention to the light power rather than electrical power, as the size of the electrical power does not have a linear relationship with the output light power.
